TINA Turner, played by Caroline Borole, will be visiting the Roodepoort Theatre until December 16. This sensational show, highlighting the unforgettable hits from the icon herself, will be on for a limited season.
Borole will perform Turner hits from the 1960s to 1990s complete with a band, brass section, backing vocalists and dancers to make this the definitive tribute and a fabulous fun night out for the family.
Borole was hand-picked by Showtime Australia director Johnny Van Grinsven for the powerful lead role in the production.
Music has been a major influence in Borole’s life. The South African-born songstress credits her family for saturating her childhood with various genres and artists, many of which helped shape her own musical style.
At the age of 10, Borole’s father introduced her to
a record that sparked her interest in the jazz and blues genres. Borole soon began to idolise Turner, taking note of the star’s outrageous confidence and high energy.
Throughout Borole’s schooling she took every opportunity to perform and steadily developed a love for the spotlight.
After three years at university, Borole ventured into the entertainment industry, landing notable roles on TV shows and musical productions, including appearances in
and a starring role as Effie White in the South African national production of the musical
Eventually, Borole found herself becoming a member of Showtime Australia. She began by touring as a backup singer for two of the company’s largest productions, and Discovering Showtime Australia was launching
Borole knew it was her chance to snatch the limelight.
The must-see performance will be staged at the Roodepoort Theatre, 100 Christiaan de Wet Road, Florida Park.
