Men more sensitive to pain than women

- | Daily Mail

WHEN it comes to pain, it seems men aren’t quite as brave as they’d have you believe.

In an experiment, men and women were asked to do difficult arm exercises, with the blood flow to their arm stopped to make it more excruciating.

Just one out of 18 women said they were stressed when asked to return to the room where the painful exercise happened 24 hours later.

But two-thirds of men said they were stressed about having to go back.

McGill University in Canada said the study showed men struggled more with the memory of pain, which may make things hurt more in future.

When their arm was gently heated up the day after the painful exercise, men said it hurt about 50% more than women did.
