BAIL FOR SUPA
FORMER Zimbabwean minister Supa Mandiwanzira was granted $2 000 bail in the Harare Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
He faces two counts of criminal abuse of office, where he allegedly handpicked Megawatt Company to do consultancy work for stateowned telecommunications firm NetOne without going to tender. The State alleges he has interests in the company and that he ordered NetOne to pay Megawatt $5m for the service and consultancy.
In the second count, he stands accused of appointing his assistant, Tawanda Chinembiri, at director level, to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe board.
He has denied both charges.
