NOMU has launched a low kilojoule granulated sugar substitute, Sweetly, a plant-based, sweetener.

Specially formulated by Nomu with a blend of non-nutritive sweeteners and flavouring for a delicious, sweet taste and golden colour, it’s said to look, taste and smell just like sugar.

Sweetly is said to be a healthier alternative to refined sugar. It has no chemicals and no bitter aftertaste.

It is endorsed by Diabetes SA and is kosher and halaal.

Made from a blend of erythritol, inulin, steviol glycosides and flavouring, it is recommended for those who want to reduce or monitor their sugar / kilojoule intake without compromising on flavour.

Available online in 36 x 4.5g sachets (the equivalent sweetness of a teaspoon of sugar) at a cost of R75.95 and a 400g pouch for R134.95.

THERE’S a new sugar substitute on the market.
