Agricultural futures
WHEAT futures for delivery in December fell 0.3 percent to R3 690 a ton by the 12pm close on the SA Futures Exchange, after reaching a four-month high on Friday.
White maize for December dropped 0.1 percent to R2 014 a ton. The yellow variety fell less than 0.1 percent to R2 058.
Global wheat advanced to trade near an 11-week high as investors weighed the outlook for the Australian harvest that began last month and concerns freezing temperatures in parts of the US may damage crops.
The contract for March rose 0.6 percent to $5.66 a bushel (R2 300 a ton) on the Chicago Board of Trade by 4.57pm in Singapore. – Bloomberg
