Comedians harvest fruits of Parliament
PARLIAMENT is ripe with comedic fruit and laughing material, but the country’s real comedians are taking it a step further.
Nine of them are banding together for the Mass Hysteria: The Long Bunfight to Freedom comedy tour.
The show will be held in Joburg and Cape Town and include popular comedians like Emmy Award winner Loyiso Gola and controversial puppet Chester Missing.
Each comedian forms part of the show’s makeshift government and each have been dubbed ministers and given a portfolio.
Former Our Perfect Wedding host Tumi Morake is the Minister of Ben 10s, YOLO and Homesteads, while John Vlismas holds his position as Minister of Non-Communicative Diseases.
Gola, who will be performing during only the Cape Town leg, is Minister of Sportswear, Emmy Nominations and Australian Affairs.
The Joburg show will be at the Teatro, Montecasino, from August 19 to 23 and the shows in Cape Town will be at the Artscape Opera House Theatre from October 14 to 25. Tickets are available from Computicket, priced between R195 and R285. JOBURG LINE-UP: Nik Rabinowitz: Minister of Shark Infested Water Affairs
