Fruit exports threatened
THE Food and Allied Workers Union yesterday led a march to Ceres municipality offices in the Western Cape during a demonstration by workers in the area to press for a wage increase. An escalation of the stand-off will hit fruit exports as Ceres is a major fruit-growing hub. Earlier this week there were reports of rising intimidation and arson.
