YELLOW maize for delivery in December declined 0.7 percent to R2 917 a ton on the SA Futures Exchange yesterday morning.

Futures were down a third day, reaching R2 899 a ton..

White maize for delivery in December dropped 0.8 percent to R3 258 a ton.

Soya beans for same delivery month gained 0.6 percent to R5 545 a ton. Sunflower seeds rose 0.6 percent to R6 400 a ton.

Wheat declined 0.5 percent to R4 128 a ton.

Meanwhile, yellow maize has risen 35 percent this year, while the white type has gained 52 percent. – Bloomberg
