SA’s Pepper wins season-ending ADAC GT Masters race

-

SOUTH Africa’s Jordan-Lee Pepper won the season-ending ADAC GT Masters race at Hockenheimring, Germany on Sunday.

Sharing an Audi R8 LMS ultra with German driver Nicky Thiim, Pepper placed 8th in race one but won the day’s 28-lap second heat to record his only win of the eightround season. He ended 12th in the championship.

Fellow South African Kelvin van der Linde, also driving an Audi R8 LMS ultra, placed respectively third and 7th on the day. Finishing 14th for the season, Van der Linde was unable to repeat the form that won him the 2014 championship but did manage to score a lone victory at the Sachsenring round in August, partnered with German driver Stefan Wackerbauer. German drivers Luca Ludwig (26) and Sebastian Asch (29) – sons of touring car legends Klaus Ludwig and Roland Asch – won this year’s championship in their Zakspeed Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. – Motoring Correspondent
