Every single drop counts
WITH civic organisations such as Farmers in Need and Water Shortage South Africa already doing their best for drought relief, it’s heartening to hear corporates are now also throwing their weight behind alleviating the crisis.
The Shoprite Group, which started donating water to Aliwal North just after Christmas, will be sending water trucks to vulnerable communities in the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo.
Shoprite and Checkers supermarkets will also be selling water at cost-price in areas with water shortages.
Collection trolleys are also being made available in these stores for customers to donate water, should they wish to do so.
