Kyalami to host Bike Festival

- MOTORING STAFF

FOLLOWING the cancellation of the AMID motorcycle show due to have run at Nasrec in Johannesburg from August 14-16 last year, a new bike expo will take its place at the Kyalami circuit in May.

The South Africa Bike Festival, powered by Discovery Channel, will be held at the newly rejuvenated Midrand circuit from Friday May 27 to Sunday May 29.

The UK-based organisers, Clarion Events, describe it as three days of fun-filled live music and entertainment, new adventures, leisure pursuits and all things engine, petrol and motorcycling.

The event aims to become SA’s premier motorcycle, music and lifestyle festival that will showcase entertainment for families as well as educate the market about safe and responsible motorcycling.

Visitors will have the opportunity to test ride motorcycles in a safe and controlled environment.

Headline media partner, Discovery Channel and confirmed manufacturers BMW, Triumph, Kawasaki, Indian & Victory, Polaris, Linhai, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, SYM, KTM, Can-Am, Husqvarna and Ducati, to name a few, will showcase their brands alongside live music, motorcycle parades, custom bike competitions and displays, as well as stunt and enduro-cross entertainment. Ticket prices will start from R190. For more information on the South African Bike Festival visit the www.southafricabikefestival.com website.
