Celebrity Warne signs up for show

-

SYDNEY: He’s one of Australia’s most iconic cricket stars. Now Daily Mail Australia can reveal that Shane Warne will be joining the cast of Australia’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

A source revealed yesterday that the 46-year-old is one of 10 celebrities who will be heading to South Africa for the show, which is scheduled to air on January 31.

Warne fills the category of “cricket player” – a clue which was previously revealed by the Channel 10 network.

Yesterday, Warne posted a throwback photo showing himself with longer hair. “Thinking of growing my hair long again like this? Thoughts?” he captioned the image, possibly referring to his upcoming stint in the jungle, where he won’t have access to grooming aids.

It is believed he will star alongside theatre and cabaret performer Rhonda Burchmore, who hinted at her involvement in the show on Sunday.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Warne’s management and Channel Ten for comment. He was reportedly offered a spot in the inaugural Australian series last year, but turned the opportunity down despite allegedly being offered a six-figure sum.

The Courier Mail reported last January that Warne was at the top of Channel Ten’s list for potential contestants.

However, despite allegedly being tempted to say yes, he snubbed the lucrative offer, preferring to see what happened with series one of the show.

It is not known whether producers upped their initial offer in a bid to get Shane on the show this time around. – Daily Mail
