Zuma will skilfully survive

- Muhammad Omar

GIVEN the recent outbursts by former president Thabo Mbeki and the ANCYL’s Collen Maine regarding MPs and the forthcoming vote of no confidence against the President, it will come as no surprise that with Zuma’s skilful political craftsmanship victory will be his.

To the opposition politicians who have canvassed ANC MPs, the age-old lie factor in electioneering will come to play.

Does anyone really tell you who they are going to vote for?

As for the MPs who will decide, the question is what future and hope does Zuma offer as a politician.

His presence has resulted in both his opponents and the ANC weakened… like peeling an onion, layer by layer with a few tears each time.

The tragedy is, Zuma is a heavily indebted person from his dealings with Schabir Shaik right up to the Guptas.

No idea what was promised, but it seems the Merchant of Venice is knocking on his doors again.

All to be paid by citizens and taxpayers of present and future generations with a much weaker ANC and probably a new coalition running SA.

As for the vote of no confidence, however sceptical I may be, my appeal to the MPs is: do what is best for South Africa and its people.

Simple as that. Glenmore Cres, Durban North
