Promoting co-operation

THE BRICS Media Forum concluded yesterday after leaders of 27 organisations agreed on an action plan to promote media co-operation. The forum, themed “Deepening Brics Media Co-operation, Promoting Fair and Just International Public Opinion,” was proposed by Xinhua News Agency and jointly initiated with Brazil’s CMA Group, Russia’s Sputnik News Agency and Radio, the Hindu Group of India, and South Africa’s Independent Media. The action plan called for action in six areas: maintaining balanced international public opinion, strengthening media social responsibility, encouraging people-to-people exchanges, expanding co-operation fields, jointly developing Brics digital media and jointly providing financial information services. – Xinhua
