MH17 memorial rite

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia held a memorial service yesterday for the victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 which was shot down over eastern Ukraine almost three years ago, killing all 298 people on board.

Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai told victims’ families Malaysia was determined to find those responsible. He spoke to more than 90 families in Kuala Lumpur, on criminal proceedings in the Netherlands, Free Malaysia Today reported online.

Last week, the Dutch government said anyone suspected of involvement will be tried in the Netherlands, according to an agreement reached by countries involved in the investigation. – dpa
