We all deserve to know the truth
NOBLEMAN “Mzala” Nxumalo wrote a magnificent book on Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi titled Chief with Double Agenda. Chief Buthelezi demanded that the book be removed from the shelves even from university libraries. Jacques Pauw’s book has also been cast in the spotlight with demands that it be removed from book stores. This book is a must read. Jacques Pauw, you deserve our standing ovation.
The book exposes activities of the “demon of corruption” that is paralysing the movement of Oliver Tambo, born 100 years ago, chief Albert Luthuli, who died 50 years ago, Anton Lembede, who died in 1947 and Govan Mbeki, released from Robben Island in 1987 being the oldest in the Rivonia trial. Instead of celebrating and commemorating these individuals, including the life of Steve Biko, who died in 1977, we read truths about Zuma in books by Pauw, Ronnie Kasrils and Redi Tlhabi on Fezeka Khuzwayo.
Details of Julius Malema’s tax status were published, he did not go out to intimidate anyone in Sars and the State Security Agency. Zuma made several blunders in his attempt to hide his immoral and unethical conduct.
One of his outstanding blunders was to isolate, marginalise and purge his Polokwane and Mangaung Conference’s “political keepers” like Moe Shaik, Mac Maharaj and Ivan Pillay. He further alienated Bulelani Ngcuka, Vusi Pikoli, Tim Williams, Bheki Cele, Jeff Maqeketula, Gibson Njenje, Ronnie Kasrils, Berry Guilder, Jeremy Cronin and many who worked in the ANC “Imbokodo”.
He went further to provoke departed cadres of the ANC in the “eternal peaceful sleep” like Judson Khuzwayo, Ahmed Kathrada, Thami Zulu, Muziwendoda Mdluli (not Richard), Harry Gwala and many whose blood watered the tree of freedom that Solomon Mahlangu spoke about on his way to the apartheid hangman.
How dare we forget that it is Zuma, assisted by Siyabonga Cwele and Dennis Dlomo, who wanted a “secrecy law” to avoid these truths from reaching the public domain. Thanks to Ben Turok, Sandi Sejake, Kgalema Motlanthe, Ronnie Kasrils, Right2Know and the SABC eight who have stood up in defence of our democracy. You also have our standing ovation.
We must make a call to the ANC Veterans League, SACP and Cosatu to oppose Sars and SSA intervention to stop truths being known about the ex-husband of Dr Zuma.
Cyril Ramaphosa cannot speak out because he tried to gag the Sunday Independent from publishing his extra-marital activities. The season of “lie spewing” from Number One is slowly coming to an end.
It is this rot in Jacques Pauw’s book that Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma must suppress if she becomes president. Like Dr Zweli Mkhize, she will not reveal truths around their man – Zuma. Mkhize was central in dirty covert deeds to protect his former patron. The book on Fezeka Khuzwayo has exposed him.
