Austrian teen denies terrorist plot charges
VIENNA: A radicalised Austrian youth faces terrorism charges for urging a 12-year-old boy to carry out an attack on a Christmas market in the Germany city of Ludwigshafen in November, 2016.
The Vienna prosecution authority accuses the youth, now 18, of having attempted to instigate murder, attempted exposure to explosives, and of membership of a terrorist organisation.
The young German accomplice built a home-made nail bomb that failed to detonate when he placed it at the Christmas market.
The 18-year-old denies the plot charges, but admits being an Islamic State member. – dpa
