‘Bid to disrupt talks’
DAKAR: A weekend attack that left 13 dead was the work of people trying to disrupt peace talks in a restive Senagelese region, said President Macky Sall yesterday, ordering security services “to track the assailants and bring them to justice”.
The attack on Saturday saw a group of people armed with automatic rifles kill 13 and injure seven in the southern region of Casamance, where some separatists have fought for independence since 1982. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. – dpa
