Conservatives ‘open’
BERLIN: The leader of Germany’s Christian Social Union, Horst Seehofer, said at the start of exploratory talks to form a new government that his party is entering negotiations open, without rigid conditions.
“We need to come to an agreement,” Seehofer said. However, he added: “We won’t besmirch our profile.”
The leader of the archconservative party said he was going to try “to bring things to a good end” in the talks. – dpa
