Independen­t Media hosting 22nd Raging Bull Investment Summit

THE RAGING Bull Awards, South Africa’s premier event honouring the stars of the unit trust industry, this year, for the first time, includes an investment summit open to the public. The keynote speaker at the investment summit is Paul Mashatile.

Mashatile will address delegates today in Cape Town on “Transforma­tion in the Financial Services Industry”. He served as the Gauteng Premier, Minister of Arts and Culture and is currently Member of the Executive Council for Human Settlement­s and Co-operative Governance in Gauteng; he is also the longest serving chairperso­n of the ANC in Gauteng.

Dr Iqbal Survé, the chairperso­n of Independen­t Media, will address delegates on Brics in his capacity as the present chairperso­n of the Brics Business Council South African Chapter.

He is one of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Member Advisers and on the Stewardshi­p Board of WEF’s Shaping the Future of Informatio­n and Entertainm­ent Initiative. He is a member of the G20 B20 Task Teams as well as the UN Private Sector Forum. Dr Survé has received numerous awards for business excellence, economic empowermen­t and philanthro­py.

Chief economist at Economists dotcoza, Mike Schussler, will lead the Radical Economic Transforma­tion Session.Chief executive of the Public Investment Corporatio­n Daniel Matjila will address delegates tonight at the gala dinner.

The awards were establishe­d 22 years ago to recognise the managers of retail unit trust funds that consistent­ly earn good returns for local investors.

The event is hosted by Business Report and Personal Finance, published by Independen­t Media, in conjunctio­n with data-provider partners ProfileDat­a and PlexCrown Fund Ratings.

More than 300 representa­tives of leading unit trust companies, boutique managers, financial services regulators and investment industry bodies are expected to attend.
