DJz take souls of fans to heart in latest single

AN INSPIRING set of twins, Bandile and Banele Mbere, have produced a self-motivating track for the souls and hearts of people affected by depression and anxiety.

The Major League DJz told The Star that their love for South Africa and its culture, and their upbringing, had inspired them to release their new hit single, Uthando, featuring Cassper Nyovest.

The DJs-turned-event producers, who are currently in Sun City, said: “There are a lot of people going through a lot of things, and knowing that someone else can relate to what you are going through makes dealing with your circumstances so much easier,” said the Major League DJz.

In an email interview, the twins, who shot to fame through their versatile and unique deejay style, told The Star that their latest single would resonate with their fans on a personal level.

Bandile said: “We hope this song helps everyone build up enough courage to deal with everything they are going through.”

The 27-year-old twins have been made famous for their legendary social events called the Major League Gardens, and are yet to tell the world how they made it in the entertainment industry.

According to the Mbere brothers, collaborations were key to their success.

“We collaborate with industry experts and more importantly our peers.

“We love the culture, the people of Major League Gardens and our fans, which is why we stay so close to them, remain accessible and are always engaging on our social media platforms and in person to ensure we are in tune with the culture,” said Banele.

Adds Bandile: “More importantly, we bring our band to life in a way that delivers on our narrative of ‘feeding the culture’.”

Known for their collaboration of hit tracks such as Slyza Tsotsi, released in 2015, featuring Nyovest, OKMalumkoolkat, Riky Rick and Carpo, the duo said they believed in timing.

“We never set out to work with anyone specific but allow our networks and interests to drive the relevance of any of our collaborations.

“Aligned to our 2020 strategy, we see Major League Gardens branching into Africa; this may afford us the opportunity to work with more African acts.

“We believe in timing, so if such opportunities arise we will definitely jump on them,” said the Mbere brothers.

The Major League DJz said: “We are in tune with the culture. We listen to the people, We are the people’s choice.”

The twins promise their fans more hit tracks this year.

Bandile said: “More hits. The grapevine isn’t always right but it’s seldom wrong.”

The twins added: “We pride ourselves in feeding the culture with everything they need, including great music, an eclectic fashion sense and a social festival like no other. We put the people first, and that will always be the reason why the people stay true to our brand.”
