TOTTENHAM Hotspur look to get their season back on track this weekend as Chelsea and Liverpool strive for perfection once again.

Two straight Premier League defeats and a late Champions League collapse at Inter Milan left Tottenham with their first threegame losing streak since 2014.

Despite the struggles, manager Mauricio Pochettino is backing his side to respond at Brighton tomorrow.

“It can happen in football, you can only fix that by working harder than before,” he said. “We need to review and try to improve.

“It’s so difficult to win, now in that negative period the most important thing is to be calm and assess in the best way and understand why and help the team to bounce back again.

“The next game is another opportunity to win and stop that period of negativity.”

The perfect starts of Chelsea and Liverpool mark the first time since 1908 two teams have won their opening five games in an English top-flight season.

Liverpool get the first chance to make it six on the bounce against Southampton tomorrow.

The Reds are flying high after beating Tottenham in the league and French champions Paris SaintGermain in the Champions League over the past week.

“Obviously it’s big for us to compete against teams like that but we see ourselves at that level,” defender Joe Gomez said.

“Although we see ourselves there, we still have to make the point. That’s what we’ve done by beating both of them. We have to keep going, we need to keep pushing on.”

Chelsea face a London derby on Sunday at West Ham, who picked up their first win of the season last time out, and Willian is pleased with how things have gone so far.

“We have five wins in a row and I think we are confident at the moment,” the midfielder said.

“We can do good things this season and the way we play we can try to win titles.”

Manchester City look to bounce back from a surprise Champions League loss when they visit Cardiff.

Though City were well off their form in falling to Lyon 2-1 on Wednesday, defender Sol Bamba knows the task at hand for the winless Bluebirds.

“Manchester City are champions for a reason, but we’re going to go out there and enjoy ourselves and try to win the game, even though we know how difficult it will be,” he said. “We’re going to be ready.”

Watford try to get back on the winning track at Fulham after suffering their first loss last week to Manchester United, while United host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
