The Star Early Edition

GARDEN OF DRINKS, DELIGHTS

- Mpiletso Motumi

THE GIN and Rum Social Garden will be the place to be this weekend allowing people to network and build their brands in a relaxed setting.

“The event is all about promoting South African brands. We want to promote local and some international brands. We have about four international brands and 10 local brands that will be at the event,” said organiser John Biyela.

He added that the event at Constitution Hill in Braamfontein would also be showcasing local art and fashion.

“It will be a day of everything South African.”

The second edition of the gathering was also expected to attract more people.

“This is the only gin and rum event right now. The reason we went for a social garden is because we want to promote a certain lifestyle.

“We are basically going to have a chilled vibe with some artists coming through like Chyna Musique and people socialise, gain contacts, business and network. Just come to have fun, chill and relax.”

The Gin and Rum Social Garden tomorrow will have a wide range of local and international gins and rums.

Guests will have the chance to experience the flavours and distinctions of the different brands.

“The festival activities include walking around the historic site… (speaking) to some of the gin and rum producers at the bars about their product and the advice for the best way to sample their brands.”

Guests will also be treated to various DJs, bands and live performers.

The event runs from 11am until late, tickets costing R150 to R350 are available at Pick n Pay stores and online at www. webtickets.co.za. For more details, email to ginandrumgarden@gmail.com. The Gin and Rum Social Garden is in association with The Star. |
