Ratepayers bear brunt of Eskom’s failures

-

WITH all its issues of the corruption of the past, the firing of management, no proper records and hundreds of billions of rand from taxpayers’ money gone, the train just moves on and on without arrests.

Eskom strongly needs to look back and collect its money from non-payers who are using millions daily from illegal connections and installing illegal prepaid meters.

With Covid-19, ratepayers are also slammed by municipalities’ annual 6% to 8% increases, not forgetting on our daily transport fuel increase of R1.40 a litre. It’s a lose-lose situation for ratepayers.
