Fantastic service from Builders and Boltfix

- SAGIE NAIDOO

IN THIS day and age, we hear of scams and poor service delivery. Week in and week out there are reports to the National Consumer Commission from disgruntled consumers.

Almost more than a year ago, I was renovating my home and replaced six interior doors, locks, handles and locking mechanisms. I purchased the items from the Builders Warehouse, Umgeni branch.

We experienced issues with the locks during installation, and since I mislaid the cash sale slip, I did not opt to pursue a claim with Builders, but rather replace them at my own cost at a later stage.

About two weeks ago I was shopping again at Builders Warehouse in Umgeni when I approached a gentleman by the name of Pranesh, whom I assumed to be the branch manager.

I took up the locks issue with Pranesh and he promised to look into it. After persevering several times via WhatsApp with Pranesh, I received a call from a Mr Tim Taylor of Boltfix, who offered to replace the entire six lock sets free of charge. He assured me that the receipt was not necessary, as the batch supplied to me at the time was defective.

I was ecstatic and couldn’t thank him enough for his kind gesture.

It is reaffirming that in this day and age, where service delivery is lacking and suppliers of goods and services not entertaining claims, especially that my purchases were more than a year old, this gentlemen came to my rescue, and offered to remove and refit the replacement lock sets free of labour costs, which he did.

Kudos to Pranesh from Builders Warehouse in Umgeni, and Tim Taylor of Boltfix.

May you continue to keep up the good work and both businesses grow from strength to strength.
