GIVEN the soaring temperatures, sipping on some bubbles is a tempting offer, more so with the The Prawnery, in Illovo Junction, Joburg, hosting their first bubble fest.

The festival will feature premium MCC’s available in South Africa.

Think flavoursome canapés, the lightest, most premium bubbles from all around the country, feel-good music, a fun-loving, opulent vibe and more.

The festival, on until tomorrow, also features a bespoke selection of proudly South African MCC’s.

There will be tastings at each farm and a range of vintage bubbles to purchase. Guests can expect to taste L’Ormarins, Spier, Simonsig, Wildekrans, and Hazendal to name a few.

“There will be personalised and artisanal retail offerings, as well as delectable food offerings from all of the restaurants at Illovo Junction. Enter the draw to win a mixed case of MCC from the featuring local farm. And enjoy the contemporary MCC cocktail bar with new, interesting, and provocative cocktails. MCC cocktails on a warm, Spring arvi are what we live for these days, and they make for great IG pics too,” wrote The Prawnery.

The bubble fest runs from 4pm until 8pm. Tickets cost R350 per person.

And if you are not into bubbles and prefer something stronger, Maxim, Sandton’s premier whisky and cigar lounge, is offering monthly whisky tastings to educate enthusiasts on some of the world’s favourite whisky brands.

Taking place on the last Thursday of every month, a whisky ambassador introduces whiskies for the night. He/ she talks through the history, nose and palate of each one. Guests also enjoy finger foods from Maximillien Restaurant during the experience.

The next Whisky Night will be on November 25, and entry costs R400 per person.
