EFF leader Julius Malema has called on the PSL leadership to challenge the ANC government to lift all Covid-19 restrictions and open up stadiums
@Johanne67675838
Our government is led by the ANC. They allow political parties to gather while they always not follow protocols. Maybe our sports minister will make a plan. I really appreciate those words from Mr Malema. @DumolwakheM
Outdoor events are allowed. Maybe football is now an underground event. Are we now going to hide behind Malema, as if he is the first to raise this issue?
@Thulzkhumz
PSL leadership does not give a damn about opening stadiums. In fact, they are making money with Multi-Choice to stream games for viewership.
@Bulelaniso
No need to challenge the ANC. They are the reason why we are struggling left, right and centre. People have no jobs and that is the only thing we should worry about now. We like football, but when the situation is risky let us delay a bit. @NtokozoV
The elephant in the room here is DStv. They know that the only way one can watch a PSL match is through Super Sport. Since SABC1 only shows 1 match per week. Monopoly.
@KhuluMbongo
So says a man, who refused relaxation of lockdown level 5. Him and his outfit EFF wanted South Africa to stay on level 5 and close our borders. No sense of irony and sense of contradiction.
@Muruti6
This virus is very clever. It knows when it is time for politicians or for entertainment. But, it seems like it does not like people to be happy, to enjoy festive season, Good Friday or watch soccer live.
@lezdevos
Malls and beaches are full. Stadiums have more space to spread the fans. All stakeholders stand to make millions in turnover. So, one has to ask why the PSL is okay with keeping us out.
DStv is the PSL sponsor. They are making a lot of money from subscribers. PSL teams do not really care about us as football fans. No complaints nothing, as long as they are receiving money from Super Sport – it’s all good.
@sbxmc
They are forgetting that vendors, car-guards, securities and many others benefit from supporters that attend these games.
