IRON AGE TREASURES FOUND
A VAST ancient Roman trading settlement has been unearthed in England, during routine digging work for a new highspeed train track. The rare finds include more than 300 coins, jewellery and a giant Roman road, with the area being described as “a significant archaeological site” by the government company developing a high-speed railway project. Glass vessels, pottery and evidence of make-up were uncovered. Eighty archaeologists have been excavating the Iron Age village. |
