- ANITA NKONKI

MAKE-UP artist Mario Vee speaks candidly about his past, how his life has transitioned and his hopes for the future.

It is not always easy to cut ties with an addiction of many years, but Mario Vee managed to break free from the shackles of drugs to better his life.

Though he may have started in the wrong direction, he turned his life around and has built a solid brand for himself.

His affinity for beauty serves as one of the major contributions to his comeback.

Mario Vee is passionate about making people feel good about themselves, an opportunity that he embraces.

Through his platform, the 37-yearold LGBTQ+ activist also wants to give back to the underprivileged.

Asked about the importance of giving back, he said: “It is important for me to give back to the underprivileged because I came from nothing and understand the importance of giving back to those less fortunate. It is also crucial for us to stand as a nation and help those in need. I have dedicated my time to help with skills development.”

Mario Vee is also dedicated to opening opportunities for others.

He has been mentoring boys and girls from disadvantaged communities, an act that he does not take for granted.

He also touched on criticism, a topic that is inevitable, and how he best deals with it.

He said: ”Criticism helps me to become a better human. It allows me to change things within my work environment and implement new and different methodologies.”

The stylist said he hopes to grow empires and “restore business and work opportunities within our country”.
