Talks are good, but there must be no reconciliation without justice. We took that route in 1994, this is why in 2002 we still have kids who were not even born during apartheid behaving like we are still in 1963. @EweJwarha

I’m not fighting with anyone, but for all the people saying his father is the reason he is racist, like we are all direct products of our parents teachings... some of our parents are enlightened and academics, yet here we are not ticking boxes. Not everything starts at home.

@Ratshilumella

Leave the families out of this. This is not even an issue between two people. It is between the aggressor and his ego or is it behaviour, personality or mannerism?

@pinkie_gcwabaza

The word reconciliation is loosely used when we (blacks) are victimised. Had the roles been reversed and this was done to the white boy, Mr Ndwayana would be going in and out of courts without any requests for reconciliatory talks first. @zithazemkhonto1

Is this not what we’re all supposed to do? Let us stand up to correct our mistakes in society and live forward. Thank you DADS!

@mbele_lnb

A good initiative, but please can this not detract from a legal process and Stellenbosch University doing the right thing! Justice and reconciliation are not mutually exclusive.

@sudo_killer

People here calling for heads to roll. I think this is right if both men want to talk and if both students want to talk then great. We need more conversations. The real enemy of black people are the leaders who are corrupt and not doing what they said they would.

@sinothi_04418

In my own opinion this was supposed to be talked between parents and varsity. Not involving political parties, we must let the varsity, parents and police deal with these matters. It’s not only white students who do this even some black students have done mistakes before.

@NgwanaaNtate

This incident kinda reminds me of the situation in South Africa. Someone forgives the other one who did not ask to be forgiven. Negotiations take place and nothing changes.

@godfrey_nthako

Best news since the whole thing started. What if that white boy is a victim of bullying and was forced to do it. Let’s wait and be open-minded about this.
