The Department of Home Affairs says Janusz Walus must serve his parole in South Africa. This is how Twitter reacted:

@AdvoBarryRoux

Home affairs has granted Janusz Walus, permanent residence in South Africa for him to serve his parole and conditions imposed by the minister of correctional services. Those who hired Janusz to kill Chris Hani will be taking care of him and have him on watch.

@TheOneDayLeader

Politicians are good at playing mind games against unsuspecting people. This Janusz Walus “parole” thing may as well be a planned strategy to boost the ANC’s campaign by mobilising through angry people for support.

@mmodiba10

President Jacob Zuma was arrested and as soon as he got to prison, we already saw pictures of him inside trending, the very next day. Chris Hani’s killer, Janusz Walus, has been in prison for about 28 YEARS and yet we don’t know how that killer looks like today.

@bonglez

Did Walus tell all he knows? Should he serve the remainder of his two years on parole here in SA or should he be deported to his native Poland? He has become a hero for right wing extremism there – how should our authorities deal with him?

@minamooby_the_1

Yes, let him live in the same conditions as millions of South Africans, and they are getting worse and worse each day.

@kpseabi

Who has been funding Janusz

Walus in bringing all these cases to the High Courts, Supreme Court of Appeal & Constitutional Court? Such litigation is not cheap at all. Probably cost between R1mil to R3mil in legal costs. What do they say about following the money? #JanuszWalus

@BK_Reily

I hope Zondo and his colleagues understand what they’ve done. The impact of their decision will be felt slowly over time but will do more damage.

@THABISOELLIOTTP

White supremacy prevailed and the killer got it all. Won the parole saga now he is winning citizenship. The big question is who will buy him a house, car and other physiological needs. The Left wing won big time. We are victims of our own ignorance.

@PeterHerring

Has anyone told Janusz Walus that #BhekiCele will be one of the guys responsible for his state-sponsored safety – the same guy that cannot run a police force.

@Siseko_12

The law is strange – how does someone who committed a political assassination get parole? How has Janusz Walus serviced his time? There is no affidavit of the truth or names of all behind the assassination! In China he would have been shot in the head.
