‘Mnangagwa corruption’ puts strain on South Africa

- COLLEN CHIKORE | UK

THE distraction of progress which is happening in Zimbabwe with or without the sanctions imposed on the country has been fuelled by the placement of Emmerson Mnangagwa by the military as the leader of our great nation.

Corruption is at its highest, with human rights abuse also at its highest. This has led to a wider array of degradation on decency and the rule of law.

You would think the days of Mugabe were behind us, where people were tortured, kidnapped, arrested and abused by the security services, but no, we have a continuation of the same.

Mnangagwa is falling into the same trap Mugabe was in the last days of his leadership, backed into a corner by the military, used as a puppet. We all know that the army is controlling everything including some top officials and our president.

This is the main reason so much abuse and torture is still going on, because we are a military state regardless of what the leaders tell us.

I am frustrated that the new government has not made any headway in eradicating these atrocious crimes perpetrated by the Zanu-PF thugs, and the president is turning a blind eye to the suffering being imposed on people by his Zanu-PF thugs.

This government is full of greedy and corrupt members of parliament disguising themselves as the saviour of the people while they are lining their pockets and not caring for the general public.

Things have got worse under Mnangagwa. He has failed South Africans and Zambians, who are failing to cope with Zimbabweans who are overstretching meagre public resources, particularly the health-care system. He should resign.
