Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane trended after the DStv Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, were knocked out by Wydad Casablanca from Morocco in the semi finals of CAF Champions League. Twitter reacted:

Sundowns must swallow its pride and bring back Pitso Mosimane. The club is not going anywhere with Rulani’s inexperience, experiments and favouritism. Let us not be stupid but hire Pitso. He is one of our own and experienced.
With Pitso in charge, and 8 minutes left to play, he should have easily managed the game. Rhulani doesn’t have any experience.
@Simphiwe_Chef
I have watched CAFCL with @ pfumos way before Pitso won it. Heck we even saw Aboutrika beat Pirates in 2013. We have seen TP Mazembe win it. ES Setif won it. Sundowns fans must relax, there was CAF way before Pitso, so we know what’s needed to win it.
@TrueNorth_Hlubi
It takes a heartless person and witchcraft tendencies to mock or celebrate the pain of #Sundowns’ unfortunate semifinal loss to Wydad. They were competing in the #TotalEnergiesCAFCL as a South African team with the SA national anthem & flag with them.
@MawethuTheSeed
Pitso did not win the CAF in his first season. Let’s give Rulani his full season and we can take it from there, it is not over. It is the progress card. Yes we are disappointed by the draw and results but all’s not lost – we still have a team to conquer.
@pchauke32
It’s interesting to note that Pitso failed to win Sundowns the Champions league from 2017 until 2020. This competition is dominated by the north African teams. Sundowns is trying hard to change that and believe me they will succeed.
@mondli_smindlo
#Rhulani today showed his lack of experience as a coach in international stage competition the moment Sundowns got the first goal in a crucial game decider. Looking at how #Sir Pitso changed the system every time he got the lead there was no time to be fancy.
At such moments you appreciate how good Pitso was for Sundowns. But he also got better and better over the years. I hope Rhulani evolves like that.
@JoeMokolobetsi
Bitter lesson. Sirino did more in 10 minutes than Mkhulise did in 80 minutes. Even on one foot, Riva is ten times better than Mbule. Rhulani paid the price of trying to win without Pitso’s players and listening to champagne pass nonsense when other basics aren’t there.

Our players are not technically equipped to mimic Pep. We have to understand our strengths. His delaying of making changes always surprises me. Even when you can see Mkhulise is out of his depth, Mbule is sluggish with the ball and you have Mr unreliable Mvala also.
