Mouth-to-mouth saves child’s life
A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been given a second chance at life after nearly drowning in a pool at his home in Crystal Park, Benoni, paramedics said yesterday. ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks said that after the boy was pulled from the pool by family members, a neighbour arrived and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Paramedics found the boy lying on the ground, but he had a pulse and was breathing without help. Banks said the boy had been submerged for five minutes. He was taken to hospital, where no adverse effects were reported. – Sapa
