UK police leaks deplored

LONDON: A media watchdog says urgent action is needed to overhaul Scotland Yard’s culture of leaking sensitive police information to the media. Elizabeth Filkin, who was asked to investigate allegations that British tabloid reporters paid police for information – said officers should start recording all contacts with reporters. She warned of the risks of “flirty reporters” and called for an end to chats in pubs.
