POLISH YOUR PLAYING SKILLS

-

DAN PATLANSKY ( is considered the foremost blues guitarist in the country. Every year he holds a Dan Patlansky Guitar Weekend, where 30 guitarists meet for three days to improve their playing skills.

Patlansky chooses to do the workshops in some of the most beautiful spots in the country.

From December 6 to 8 he will be holding a workshop in Clarens and from December 13 to 15 he will be holding the same event in Stellenbosch.

The workshops allow guitarists to get away for a weekend and learn more about improvising, licks, riffs, chords and harmony, tone and gear. There will be semi-private sessions as well as many hours of jamming.

The cost is R2 450 a person for the weekend, which includes accommodation and food.

Patlansky has recently come back from touring Europe and is fast becoming known as one of the world’s premier blues guitarists. This is proved by the fact that his previous album, 20 Stones, was voted the 10th best blues albums of the year by the internationally renowned Blues Rock Review magazine.

He recently released an acoustic album, Wooden Thoughts, after which he was even more in demand on the national and international blues circuits.
