Clifford’s ‘book of secrets’ has celebs worried

-

LONDON: A string of celebrities fear that disgraced PR guru Max Clifford will reveal secrets about their private lives, it was claimed yesterday.

Mark Williams-Thomas, who exposed paedophile Jimmy Savile, said Clifford kept a “little brown book” of damaging stories for insurance purposes – including details of a pop star who had paid for sex with teenage boys.

Clifford, 71 – who was sentenced to eight years behind bars on Friday for sexually attacking a 15-year-old girl and three young women – is likely to face another police investigation after more alleged victims came forward during his trial.

Williams-Thomas said that there were at least three alleged victims who were previously unknown to police. Last night it also emerged that the celebrity publicist had been placed in the “vulnerable prisoner unit” at Wandsworth Prison for those at risk of harm from fellow inmates.

Williams-Thomas, a former policeman who was first contacted by one of Clifford’s victims in 2012, revealed that one of Clif- ford’s victims had told him that she had seen the book of secrets in the early 1980s after the PR guru lost it in a restaurant and begged her to help him find it. Clifford told her the book contained evidence of a top pop star paying for sex with teenage boys and other celebrities’ affairs.

Williams-Thomas said: “One woman who I interviewed explained the power and control that Max had over her and so many other people… When she found the book, which had been dropped, his relief was palpable.” – Daily Mail
