Materialism has replaced cadreship

- Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni

IT’S CONFOUNDING that it has become fashionable for the ANC structures to venture into a law-fare contest for political expediency. Where have you seen family issues taken to the courts? Clearly, those who do so are driven by ulterior motives.

There’s no content in what they put forward as a basis for relief through the courts. In fact, their issues can be easily resolved by the conference. But instead, they hide behind neo-liberal technicalities.

Immorality is common- place, as if they don’t know God. No wonder they had no regard for our people in Marikana, notwithstanding the fact that women and children bore the brunt of this cruel act. There’s no political will for gender equality to top the agenda of the country.

So, a model leader like Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma is relentlessly vilified by those using narrow-minded manoeuvres to thwart her chances of attaining the highest office. Methinks the movement is fraught with disruptive elements obsessed with power.

Their minds are corrupted and they have abandoned ANC traditions for selfish interests. They’re shameless and ruthless and some of them settle political scores with bullets.

While our most critical challenges are inequality, poverty and unemployment, there is little activism and cadreship has been replaced by entitlement and crass materialism. Morgan Phaahla
