Defiance at decision to recall Zuma

-

IT IS GENERAL knowledge that the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal preferred Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, to become the party leader.

The controversial provincial executive committee unsuccessfully embarked on some extensive campaign efforts for the former AU Commission chairperson to replace former president Jacob Zuma.

After the ANC’s 54th national conference, KZN ANC leaders are now mobilising members to question the recall of Zuma as president of South Africa.

Some members have been cited by various media houses complaining that there should have been more consultations with the branches on the decision to recall Zuma.

ANC leaders are also sing- ing the same tune, forgetting that a similar approach had been tested in the (Thabo) Mbeki saga, where there was no consultation.

This is nothing but an effort by the leaders of the KZN ANC to mobilise for chaos among members of the party.

The continuous use of branding displaying the face of Zuma at ANC meetings indicates an ANC that has not accepted Cyril Ramaphosa.

The welcome-back celebrations for Zuma, planned by the ANC in KZN, show an ANC that is not willing to accept the outcome of the ANC conference. The ANC in the province is hell-bent on creating platforms to discredit the NEC for self-serving reasons. Mzamo Billy New Germany, KwaZulu-Natal
