The Star Late Edition

PABI HOSTS DATING SHOW

-

SOUTH Africa’s newest reality dating show gives people a chance at love.

The Lifetime show, hosted by Pabi Moloi and engaging a team of experts, sees two people receive a complete make-over in the hopes of helping them find love.

Together with the experts, they’ll revamp their dating profile, their look and also dig deeper into issues that could be holding them back.

promises to be uplifting, sometimes hard-hitting and emotional.

“I could relate to this show because so many people I know are looking to find ‘the one’ and find it incredibly difficult. The show, with all its experts, gives some really honest advice and I think it will make viewers really think about their approach to online dating and the way they present themselves,” said Moloi.

The show’s experts include life coach Dr Zenia Barnard, who has degrees in psychology and technology, renowned stylist Shaldon Kopman, who will help the participants see what it is they need in order to portray themselves correctly on their online dating profiles, a make-up guru and hairdressers who will rally around the participants throughout the transformation process.

“I loved the experts that were selected to appear on the show. I also feel that

takes a real look at a subject that is often seen as taboo. Online dating is a reality and many people find love this way. Some of the participants’ stories really tugged at my heart, from a widower trying to find love once more to someone who was bullied growing up,” Moloi said.

She said lots of the participants don’t believe in themselves anymore and the journey to self-acceptance and self-love is what stands out the most across the series.

“We saw the way a person felt about themselves and the confidence they exuded once they were made-over. There are also so many useful tips that emerge throughout the show. But here are just two that stand out: Barnard, the show’s life coach, is a firm believer that people need to be authentic and real about who they are when looking for love online.

“On a lighter note; the show’s stylist Kopman says a lot can be said about good grooming and simply decluttering your look. I completely agree with both of these pieces of advice,” she said.

The six-episode series, produced by Hi Mom, will leave viewers in laughter and tears as they watch ordinary South Africans transform inside and out, culminating in a jawdropping big reveal.

* Catch Pabi Moloi on on Thursdays at 8pm on Lifetime on DStv 131.
