New high-spec Figo joins local line-up
WHEN FORD launched its facelifted Figo hatch and sedan recently, it came with a bunch of visual enhancements and a new engine, but the range was missing a flagship model for those that want all the latest cabin tech.
Now the Ambiente and Trend model grades have been joined by a Titanium flagship model, bringing with it Ford’s latest Sync3 infotainment system, linked to a 16.5cm touchscreen.
The system brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as well as ‘conversational’ voice command and various on-board apps. The system also incorporates a reverse camera.
Other spec enhancements unique to the Titanium include Ford’s programmable ‘MyKey’, audio controls on the steering wheel, auto headlight and windscreen wipers and four-way height adjustment for the driver’s seat.
The flagship gains extra airbags too in the form of dual and full-length side curtains to supplement the dual front crash bags that are fitted across the range.
Visual differentiation comes in the form of 15-inch alloy wheels, and a chrome surround for the grille and front fog lamp bezels.
Powering the Titanium is the same recently-introduced 1.5-litre normally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that powers the rest of the line-up. It produces 88kW and 150Nm and is mated to a manual gearbox - only the mid-range Trend model is available with Ford’s six-speed automatic gearbox.
