MUSIC CELEBRATION
STAR LINE-UP TO TOUR SA
NOW in its sixth year, Music Alla Kaap is back, with a fabulous all-star line-up. The show features a host of talented artists. International award-winning group, All-4-One will be featuring, along with some local talent. The line-up includes, among others, Alistair Izobell, Emo Adams, Sasha-Lee Davids, Lady Zamar and Niesa Abrahams.
The show is produced and conceptualised by Izobell who will also be performing.
To his credit, since the show started, it has included luminaries such as the late Zayn Adam and Percy Sledge, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, Judy Boucher, PJ Powers, RJ Benjamin, Richard Jon Smith, Marc Lottering, Shaleen Surtie Richards, Vicky Sampson, Leslie Kleinsmith and many more.
Says Izobell, “In essence it’s a variety show and I am a guy who understands variety shows. For each person selected there is a reason behind them – for example Emo Adams has been in the business for 30.
“But at the same time, while we celebrate and validate older and talented younger artists, we are also creating a platform for younger artists.
“This is what the concerts (in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town) are all about, a celebration.”
Celebration will also be the name of the game when All-4-One and 2009 Idols co-winner Sasha Lee Davids perform Izobell’s just-recorded song Africa Arise.
Says Izobell, “This concert is thus opening doors for Davids to perform with international Grammy artists.”
The Grammy Award winning group All-4One is known for its sensuous love songs. To date they’ve sold more than 20 million units worldwide and, aside from a Grammy, have also scooped an American Music Award, a Blockbuster Award and more...
Davids was also the winner of the 2008 reality TV show Matrix 2.
After a two-year gap, Sasha Lee was back in the limelight with a reality TV show,
The House of Davids or Huis van Davids, showcasing the lives of the Davids family and their involvement in the Cape community of Atlantis.
“Now I’m exploring different avenues of my career, including starting as the new presenter of the TV show Pasella and I’m loving every minute of it. Lots of exciting things are happening musically…,” she says.
“My biggest highlight was that I moved out of my comfort zone to work on Pasella and what I am also trying to focus on is more collaborations – I’m trying to work internationally and it’s a whole new journey for me.”
She’ll also be performing with her brother Lorenzo on the song Fear Chandelier.
