Ntshangase will keep fighting at Chiefs

KAIZER Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase will stay with Amakhosi despite his lack of game time at the club.

Ntshangase joined the Glamour Boys with huge expectations two seasons ago. The team was experiencing one of its lowest points and he was seen as a messiah and he showed signs of that under the tutelage of coach Giovanni Solinas last season but faded as the season went on.

The KwaZulu-Natal born maestro has found it hard to break into the starting 11 since Ernst Middendorp took over the coaching reigns at Amakhosi last year. He has not even seen action as a substitute and is yet to feature this season for Amakhosi across all competitions.

His agent, Jazzman Mahlakgane has confirmed that Ntshangase won’t be leaving Chiefs in this transfer window despite his situation at the club.

“Ntshangase will be staying with Chiefs, he is not leaving,” Mahlakgane said yesterday.

Kearyn Baccus, Lebogang Manyama and Willard Katsande have proved to be vital for the Glamour Boys in the middle of the park. They have made it difficult for Ntshangase to get the nod.

Said Mahlakgane: “We are not worried about his current situation, it will pass. It does happen when a new coach comes in. We talk with Ntshangase and he updates me about what is happening at the club. He is very positive.”

Chiefs are on the roll. They have started 2019/20 season like a house on fire notching up 13 victories and two stalemates (against SuperSport United and Maritzburg United).

The two defeats they have suffered were against Polokwane City and SuperSport United. They also reached the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout where they succumbed to Maritzburg. They are leading the Absa Premiership by nine points.

The Glamour Boys are pitted against GladAfrica championship outfit, Royal Eagles in the Nedbank Cup. They will have every reason to believe that they are capable of lifting two trophies which will end their four-year barren run. Ntshangase will be working diligently with the hope that he will get some game time in the Nedbank Cup.

“Ntshangase will play at Chiefs. He doesn’t have a problem with his current situation. He is working hard and waiting for his chance. He understands that the team is doing well. His mentality is right and that’s why I’m positive,” Mahlakgane stated.

Amakhosi face Black Leopards Saturday in an Absa Premiership showdown at 3.30pm. Tonight they will be keeping a close eye on the blockbuster tie between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium at 7.30pm.
