Q&A with TLT duo
RAP duo TLT are building their music brand and South Africa is noticing.
Their hit track MaiZuzu featuring Thabsie is still making waves.
They spoke to The Star about the technology and the concerns around coronavirus as artists.
The Star (TS): With the ongoing coronavirus, what do you think service providers can do to help subscribers improve their services?
TLT: We would like for service providers to work together with the people and forget about making profit in these rough times.
TS: Are you familiar with 5G? How do you think it can help society?
TLT: We know it’s going to improve the internet speed for sure but with that top notch technology comes a lot of disadvantages too. We heard that once 5G is in place a lot of jobs are going to be lost once these smart machines are in.
TS: With social gatherings being restricted, how are you using technology to reach your fans/audience?
TLT: We are currently doing this special thing where we randomly call our fans and check up on them during these trying times.
TS: Before you buy a gadget, what are some of the key things that you look out for?
TLT: Check the quality of the gadget and if it’s compatible with today’s technology. It has to be an investment that also aligns with the TLT brand.
TS: How do you use technology to enhance your music?
TLT: We like to keep our music as raw and authentic as possible. We use technology through final mixing and mastering of our songs just so that it can be in tune with modern day technology and keep it to today’s quality and standard.
TS: If you could come up with an app for Africans what would it be called and what would it do?
TLT: This question makes us feel like we are giving away our idea for free.
But to answer the question we would create an app that creates jobs for the underprivileged majority in the country. We would call it Abantu app meaning the people’s app.
