Finally.. let’s hope the new sponsors will not exploit PSL teams. PSL prize must be

R35 million (at least)

@siyaronin

In this economic climate, I don’t see any one lining up, begging to sponsor the PSL.

The biggest sponsorship in African football has come to an end. The revenue the PSL will lose from this is massive.

@Lnhlohonolo

The Castle Premiership was far more enjoyable than the Absa Premiership anyway.

@Mphele_

Absa prize money is R15m a season, their next competition sponsors must fight to surpass that cash ..... Otherwise losing Absa as a sponsor will be a loss to our league.

@George Makubalo

I don’t blame Absa for ending its relationship with PSL. The PSL has failed to grow the brand in the last 10 years. They grew too comfortable and alienated the fans.

@AdvNgcukaitobi

Absa terminated its sponsorship with PSL because it wasn’t getting its investment return from them. For instance. Orlando Pirates v Sundowns matches would exclusively air on SuperSport not on SABC that has a bigger audience. Absa wasn’t happy about it.

@lefa_Max

Yes! Kaizer Chiefs will be the last club to win the Absa premiership league

@mdonizo

Now that Absa has pulled out of sponsoring the league, all the fans of other clubs who always blame Khoza and Motaung of being controlling in running the league, can step up and look for the new sponsor.

@_RitoBaloyi

I can’t blame Absa Bank for pulling out as the PSL sponsor, we don’t even go to stadiums to support. We only go to big games, plus the team that was supportive in terms of fans on every game is being sold.

@TurkishNabs

The PSL made a billion rands in revenue last financial year and no doubt, they’ll have someone lined up to take on the league-naming rights. Covid will likely delay an announcement because there is no league and even when it returns, there will be no fans for a while. That’s a hard sell.
