JOAO “J’Something” da Fonseca, lead singer of the multiple-award-winning band Mi Casa, along with Dr Duda (Sipho Mphahlaza) and trumpeter Mo-T (Moshe Kgasoane), have joined celebrities across the globe to help raise funds for people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The trio, who are auctioning treasured items, have teamed up with the charity Reach For A Dream.

The band’s lead singer shared a photograph of himself with the late Hugh Masekela on social media on Friday, saying: “I’m auctioning off my Taylor acoustic guitar to try and raise money for @ reach_for_a_dream... the highest bid wins! This guitar happens to be the guitar I wrote #HeavenInYou with @ hughmasekela ... it means the world to me but these kids that are facing terminal illnesses mean more and all we want is to make some of their dreams come true!”

Dr Duda, who is auctioning his favourite pair of headphones, also posted on Instagram: “I bought this set of headphones in Canada when the band was on tour 3 years ago.

“These headphones have been a companion when I was always on the road (and) were my second sounding voice when I was creating beats for our album -Familia.”

Mo-T revealed he’s auctioning his well-travelled jacket.

He posted on Instagram: “Hey Fam I’m So Proud to Announce that I will be putting my Coolest @ micasamusic Jacket which I have travelled the World With On Auction to Raise Funds @reach_for_a_dream Kids Foundation.”
