Spectacular fall from gr(Ace) for Magashule

-

I CANNOT understand how a promising person such as Ace Magashule, who hails from Tumahole, Parys (see the ys), starts off as a teacher, becomes premier, thereafter secretary-general of the ruling party, only to fall from gr(ace).

The satirist Peter-Dirk Uys also has a few aces up his sleeve. Farce about Uys and his unique double roles as Evita Bezuidenhout.

Seems Ace also had his double role – as champion of the oppressed and his own dealings, which were contrary to that expected.

During his tenure, the mess at the Vrede dairy project comes to mind.

Strangely, near Parys is a place called Vredefort, and worth a drive to see how the Vaal River meanders along. Relatively isolated, lots of bird life, and even a remote bridge undergoing active repairs, that took me by surprise.

Ace definitely seems to have played his strong cards rather weakly and it seems there was no ace up his sleeve, as he was probably sleeveless with the latest move.

Smart politicians generally can sense the wind direction and avoid controversy until the storm settles. That should have been Ace’s ploy. For now it seems President Ramaphosa’s faction has the upper hand.
