DJ Black Coffee, SA Harvest assist KZN
GRAMMY award-winning Nkosinathi Maphumulo, fondly known as DJ Black Coffee, has joined forces with the South African food rescue organisation, SA Harvest, to collect donations for victims of the flooding in KwaZulu-Natal.
The internationally acclaimed DJ has demonstrated that he is involved in assisting people and continues to support those in need with the Black Coffee Foundation.
The aim of the partnership is to spread awareness, fuel donations, and raise funds for the flood victims.
The drop-off points for donations will be in three provinces, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape.
The Star spoke with the operations manager for SA Harvest, Lindsay Hopkins, who says they have been working hand in hand with the Black Coffee Foundation, particularly with Black Coffee's sister Lungi Maphumulo at the helm.
“Lungi is very proactive and keen on the ground. And our relationship with her has been going from strength to strength. She has been giving full reports of what is happening and what is needed.”
The Black Coffee Foundation is known for its contributions to nation-building and the rehabilitation of South Africa by continually raising funds through both the public and private sector, donations from government institutions, as well as foreign investors.
The foundation is also dedicated to providing ongoing assistance, upliftment, and opportunity to South Africans who are underprivileged and differently-abled.
It also caters to their needs through the implementation of sustainable, long-term initiatives that promote education, independence, and social integration.
SA Harvest is a revolutionary food rescue organisation that seeks to eliminate food waste in South Africa. The non-profit company does this by collecting food waste from all kinds of entities to distribute to those in need, for free. SA Harvest's long-term goal and motto is to nourish the nation.
The Black Coffee Foundation and SA Harvest urged South Africans to pitch in with acts of kindness to donate whatever that they can to ease the devastating situation in KZN.
In 2020, the star also raised funds in efforts to fight Covid-19 and assist Covid-19 relief projects.
