are finally back on screens for their third season after a few false starts. Viewers were last entertained by RHOJ in 2019 and they have been patiently waiting for its screen return.

Sonia Mbele, the producer and the one who brought the NBC Universal licence to Africa, could not contain her excitement at the show being finally on screens at The Real Housewives of Johannesburg season three watch party.

She kicked the watch party off with praise to God, as the show experienced its fair share of challenges before returning.

The delay behind the flagship show’s return was due to the pandemic and in April 2021 a physical altercation between Christall Kay and Brinnette Seopela brought production to a halt.

OG (original) housewives Lethabo “LeJoy” Mathatho and Lebo JoJo Mokoena, were excited to be back on the reality show, with the new cast members Keabetswe Marema, Thobekile Mdlalose, Nicole Watson and Mamus Koka. Season three of The Real Housewives

of Durban was among the most-watched reality shows, striking conversation on social media. Housewife, Silindile Wendy Ndlovu was spotted, looking gorgeous in an orange number complemented by her blonde short hair.

Former Durban housewife Londie London had a braid line. The businesswoman is pushing her brand by all means.

With The Real Housewives of Cape Town stars Loveline Abinokhauno, Beverley Steyn, Camilla McDowell and Kutazwa Gqirana in one room, one couldn’t help but imagine an African BravoCon.

The housewives ensured to serve fashion goals and not only the on-screen housewives but South Africa’s celebrity wives such as Faith Nketsi, who opted for a bridal inspired look with actress Linda Mtoba channelling her Disney princess.

The Real Housewives franchise has grown in Africa, there are seven other spin-offs and expectations are high on what Joburg will deliver.

The premiere of The Real Housewives of Durban introduced a new cast, a group of strong women, who come together to form a friendship.

Mathatho and Mokoena didn’t end on a good footing at the end of season two but as the only two returning from the previous season, they have come together and agreed to work on their relationship.

Newcomer Leon Payne was already ruffling feathers at his friend Watson’s event and his personality at the watch party also couldn’t be missed as he wanted to take pictures with all the housewives.

In season three the ladies head off on a trip to Zambia.

The show airs on Fridays at 8.30pm on 1Magic.
