What’s the first thing you do when you ar­rive back in Joburg from out of town? Take a shower :-)

Best meal you’ve had in Joburg? The newly lo­cated Polpetta in Rivo­nia Road

What lo­cal song can’t you stop lis­ten­ing to? Dope Saint Jude’s Gr­rrl Like.

And what lo­cal TV show are you lov­ing right now? How Do I Look? SA (obvs!)

What’s the last South African movie you watched? Baby Ma­mas.

And the last play? Not a play but the JHB bal­let.

When was the last time you at­tended a mu­sic con­cert/ fes­ti­val and who was per­form­ing? Katy Perry was the most re­cent, in July.

What’s your ear­li­est mem­ory of Joburg? I think the Jacaran­das in bloom around the parks.

If you were mayor for the day, what would you do? Try and as­sist all the home­less as best I could.

Your favourite hang­out spot in the city? Mabo­neng.

The best-kept se­cret in the city? My sa­lon in the south: Treat­ment Cou­ture.

Where is the best place to let your hair down? Good Luck Bar in Fox Street.

Who do you call when you want to have fun, and where in the city do you go? If hubby is with me it’s al­ways a good time.

Your favourite cof­fee shop? Naked Cof­fee.

Favourite place to shop at in Joburg? Sand­ton City.

Vi­lakazi Street (Soweto), Mabo­neng Precinct (Jo­han­nes­burg CBD), Men­lyn (Pre­to­ria) or 4th Av­enue (Parkhurst). Which do you pre­fer and why? Mabo­neng for its au­then­tic­ity and grit.

Which is your favourite mar­ket in Gaut­eng and why? Kamers Mak­ers when it comes to town.

Which build­ing in Joburg would you love to own and why? The 360 de­gree view at the top of the Carl­ton Cen­tre.

Which build­ing would you like to be locked in overnight, and why? Rand Club in town to find out some se­crets.

What’s the one thing peo­ple need to stop do­ing in the city? Mug­ging peo­ple.

Where is the best view of Joburg? The Four Sea­sons in spring still has an epic view of the largest man-made for­est.

Best place for a night­cap? San Deck in Sand­ton.

What’s the one thing that dif­fer­en­ti­ates Joburg from other cities in SA? The en­ergy that never stops.

Where would you sug­gest first-time vis­i­tors to the city go to get the best ex­pe­ri­ence of the city? I would start with the red bus tour.

Lastly, how do you spend your Sun­day? With my fam­ily, at home, al­ways.
